This is a post example of how it looks when you have a featured image in your post. You can write up your normal rantings on the section and just upload a featured image on the post, it will show up at the left of the column giving it a nice look.
The other feature of this theme is the last post or even a sticky post you have opens up by default so people know that this is your main post or your latest post. All other posts are hidden and only shows up when you click on the title. You can read rest of the content without having to go to the main post. If you ever wanted to go to the main post, there is a small go to post link just below the title, which is grayed out so its not that distracting.
The best thing is the implementation of the human friendly date time which I love so much and wanted to implement all this time. This ones good. 
You are looking at a demo of another minimalist theme called – minii. This is going to be available for free as a beta version very soon. After a short time of its release, this will become a paid theme. A number of features such as lightbox, different css themes, google fonts, flexible widgets, logo, google tracking, cross browser compatibility and a few more, including bug fixes from beta will be available at that time.
